I did get our son a pile of expensive knives prior to his Marine unit going off to Iraq in 2004 . . OKC Ka-Bar, Ek dagger, Camillus Cuda Maxx, Randall fighter , Chris Reeve Green Beet . . .but not a CRK Sebenza. Instead, I got him one of the Columbia River M-21s for a folding pocket knife, knowing he would lose it . . .and he did.

Now we are twenty years away from that time and we are all that much older. Recently, my wife and I had a brief period where we were both confined to wheelchairs or walkers for a week. On short notice our son drove to Houston from San Antonio in the early morning to get one of us to a doctor's appointment. He stayed most of the day, changing light bulbs, taking trash to the curb and moving heavy things around and drove home again for our grandson's freshman football game. . . . a good son and a great father.

His 44th birthday comes at the end of the month. Today, I ordered a Chris Reeve Large
Sebenza, plain in every way, in Magnacut. It should last him for most of the rest of his life (if he doesn't lose it too.)

Well done. Sounds like you are a great father to a great son.

Tell him to use the hell out of it because the cost of that knife includes the awesome Spa service, I’ve bought some pretty scratched/beat up Sebenzas, sent them in and received the knives back looking damn near brand new and ready for another 10 years of use.

Awesome. Hope you and your wife fully recover. I am sure your son will appreciate the gift
