The last days of my Fathers life we spent talking about things that were never spoken. The battle of Guadraline Island and his landing team ACORN 21 were among them. Anyhow I found this video of the folks that make the knife he carried and thought it may be of interest. He shed but one tear before passing and it was for those he had slain in combat.

Thanks for this entire thread!! Thanks go out to your Dad Skyhorse.

My Father died when I was very young so, like Moose, I never had one either.

Moose and TD -

I'm sorry to hear y'all never had a father growing up. I lost mine 3.5 yrs ago when he was 85 and I still miss him. A thought - even though you didn't have one growing up, you can still "have" one now.

There are lots of older guys at nursing homes and assisted living facilities that never had or no longer have sons and would love to have one. Go adopt one :) and make his day by visiting from time to time. It's amazing what they know/experienced and would love to pass on to others before they go.

I have a niece who is the director of an assisted living facility in Austin and she told me about a few guys who show up at different times to talk to the guys living there and it really makes their day when they visit.

Having never been married and never had any kids, that'll probably be me someday. :D Maybe I'll get "adopted" someday.
