The knive you bought her vs the one she stole from your collection.

I love my wife and I want good things for her which is why I upgraded her EDC when I upgraded mine. It seems she had other ideas though. I'm sure others have had this experience so feel free to share. Obviously this goes for the ladies as well, I'm sure your fella stole your gear at some point too.

Beautiful JYD. I wish I still had mine.

I don't have any pictures, but I gave my wife the same Kershaw Chive you have pictured there, and then let accidentally let her peruse through my Spydercos. She ended up with a Manbug (purple scales), and I am reasonably sure she's grabbed my Endura. Can't find it anywhere, and we all know darn well that that thing didn't get up, climb out of its drawer, and vanish all by itself!

But it's ok, she's my Favorite, so it's good with me.

My Spyderco salt is now a garden knife and lives in the shed. That's ok, I have a few other knives.

Well this isn't exactly what you meant but . . . the Opinel I bought for her way back. She never carries it or touches it. It sits on display in the house.
The long fixed blade I used to EDC in a sheath back in the eighties. Yes it is a kitchen knife. I like thin knives that cut well. Since I stopped carrying that and it sits around the kitchen every time I look up she has it in her hand and is prepping food with it. There are a lot of other kitchen knives around but that and a big aced knife is about all she uses.

And finally the little Spyderco Ladybug I bought her this year. She likes it because she doesn't have to pick open a nail nick slip joint. She has EDCed it since I bought it for her months ago.

So yeah she pretty much took over my fixed blade if that counts.

CADEFEC4-9490-4571-A004-75B33159C3F2.jpeg I put an Opinel 8 carbone in my wife’s car and in three weeks the tip was snapped off and it was saturated in rust. After two months it was missing from the car.

To her defense she uses knives as much as I do but uses them hard and without much afterthought on maintenance.

Since then I’ve put a Hori-hori tool in the car. It’s still there and fits her uses better. She even uses it to open boxes and chop plants.

I gave her the Spyderco Dragonfly Tattoo a couple years ago and she carries and uses it daily, hence the tattoo being completely worn away. On a recent trip to Oregon,we flew in, she picked out the Kershaw with the intent of me carrying it for the trip then her keeping it after we got home. After two days trying it she went back to the Dragonfly.

 I didn't know the tattoo wore off on those! Kinda glad I never got around to picking one up for my sister.

Slowly but surely after a couple years of carrying its gone. You can see where it used to be but I couldn’t get it to show in a pic.

My wife stole my blur and aegis mini before I got her a few knives for her own collection. She now has a Pink Rat 2, purple Ladybug, pink Native 5 LW, turquoise Leek and a turquoise Ultratech.
