Saw it this afternoon, and contrary to what I was fearing, I seriously doubt the movie will create a legal scare about one-handers. In the movie there are two factory folders I saw: The much-seen Spyderco Harpy used by Lecter, and surprisingly what appeared to be a Microtech Mini-Socom(??) carried by Starling.
The Harpy was shown just enough to tell what it was, but in the scenes it may as well have been a small fixed blade...it was never shown being thumbed open. And the scenes were short and quick, often the knife was slightly out of focus. And the scene in the book where Lecter goes to a gun show to buy knives is notably absent from the movie.
As a movie I think it works, I won't give away details. I get the impression it will be one people will either like okay or strongly dislike. I do think it is quite a "cut" above your typical teen slasher flick. (okay, bad pun).
