The Knives that Elude Me

I'm still looking for two saw guards for 108mm Vic SAK saws. One most certainly for a mentor of mine out west in Washington. I never can find any.

And a Case 337-6"Q. The ones I do find are just in terrible shape or, if in good shape, priced at twice or nearly so what they are worth.

The hunt is worth it, but these I have yet to really see in the wild.

hmmm there was a 2014 bf knife on the fs the other day. sold in an instant, if i had stayed in the office id saw it and bought it. used but great price

Sadly, the Victorinox Service Center (pretty sure it was the USA one in Monroe, CT) responded today that there are none available.

If any of you guys see the 108mm saw guards available, please let me know who/where. Thanks.

I've had a hard time too trying to re-equip those of my Vic 108mm knives that are missing their saw guard. I found that you can make a decent temporary saw guard for your 108mm (vic safari? vic trooper? vic hunter?) from an aluminuim beer can. Of course, you must first find a way to get rid of the beer. . .

By the way, be careful about buying non-Victorinox saw guards - I purchased a junker Mil-tec version of the German Army Knife (GAK) on eBay just for its saw guard, only to discover when it arrived that it wouldn't fit right.

That's a shame Leghog, I guess they are getting scarce, I certainly don't see the Germany Army Knives as often as I used to. I'll definitely keep a look out :thumbup:
