I just received my 4th of July special from Uncle Bill, a very nice Kumar Karda. Once again, I opened the box and got my socks knocked off. The website pictures and descriptions simply do not do this knife justice. At just a hair under 11 inches, six of which are blade, this is one rough-and-ready full-blown belt knife. Now I see what Sarge was talking about. The pic shows it alongside a 12" sirupati for comparison. Thanks Uncle!

They make a wonderful pair! Nice choice you made there for your July 4th present.:)

Whoa, that's a great comparison pic. Nice grab on the Karda and
thanks for sharing.

The KK I got on the 4th looks identical, also by the RR kami. It is a great knife, though I wish the handle was a little longer so that I wouldn't have to keep cleaning the brass.

Mamav really likes her KK in the kitchen. Been there ever since it arrived. It is about the size of a Ka-bar. What the kamis need to do is to put AK style fullers on this one and you could call it the AK-bar!

Now I see what Sarge was talking about.
:D :) :D

Last Christmas I was showing my father a couple of my khukuris. He examined them with the disinterested curiosity of an old dog unimpressed with new tricks. Then I put a horn handled Kumar Karda in his hands and his eyes immediately lit up. He liked it, he liked it a lot. It's an honest, straightforward knife, devoid of "bells and whistles". The blade shape is very reminiscent of the Leukku carried by Saami reindeer herdsmen. A camp knife, a butcher knife, a survival knife, the Kumar Karda is all of these. No wonder dad's eyes lit up, if you're an outdoorsman this is a knife that would be hard not to like. I know Raghorn won't let his collect any dust.;)

That one don't look anything like the one on the shopping site !!

It's really like a little bowie isn't it !!

I will get one when funds increase and make a custom sheath for it !!
