the Lanyard, Pocket Clip Carry Quagmire

For me, the ergonomics on certain knives are greatly enhanced by using some sort of lanyard with a monkey fist or knot. This is so for my Spyderco G10 Dragonfly, and Techno. The lanyard just adds that little extra in the hand.

Now, both of these knives have the same awesome, deep-carry pocket clips. But I carry tip up, and if I carry it, the lanyard becomes easily visible and somewhat clunky. Lanyards aren't the easiest thing to take on and off either.

I'm just wondering what you guys do? Have certain knives with lanyards only that you don't carry? And other pocket carry knives without lanyards? No lanyards at all? Throw in pocket with no clip?

I only have lanyards on the few larger knives I carry in my rear pocket (with their clips orientated for tip up-right hand). The knives I carry in my front pockets don't get lanyards, they just get in the way.

No lanyards or clips for me, but I keep my knife by itself in a side pocket just above knee height.
