Hey folks,
It's been quite a while since I've posted anything here, so I thought share these two. Interestingly, both blade were forged quite some time ago. The bowie blade was forged in 2006, I think, and the dagger blade in late 2010 or early 2011.

The dagger was finished in December, so I'll start with that one:

Steel: 1084/15n20 in a Gordians Knot pattern

Blade length: 7"

Guard: opposing twist O1/L6 damascus

Handle material: desert ironwood with fileworked bronze spacer.

This is the smallest bowie I've ever made.

Steel: 440C stainless, forged

Hardness: 58-59 RC

Blade length: 6"

Total length: 10-7/8"

Blade thickness: 1/4"

Handle material: desert ironwood with stainless and G10 spacers

I tried to make the "wings" of the guard thinner, as per STevens advice.

Thanks for looking,

I like the modified guard on the fighter a bunch - a good step in the right direction.

Great Knives!
I am especially fond of the dagger.
I really like the profile of the leaf shaped blade.
Beautiful ironwood as well.

Excellent work, Philip! I really like the guard on the bowie. Looks like a really smooth transition, and the G10 spacers sets it off very nicely!

Your work is always exceptional.....the dagger is fantastic! :)

Both VERY nice Phillip! I like the style of the blade and guard combination on the dagger, and the spacers and ironwood on the fighter look great. The fighter has that CLEAN look to it.

You're too cool bro - I agree, the guard style on the fighter is awesome.

Dagger is sweet - the upswept arms of the guard add a wonderful flow to it.
