Wow !! I love that color fade out !! The color contrast really pops !!!
Nice job :-)

Love the way the color on the sheath matches the handle on the knife. Could you tell us how you do that? Thanks, rtmind/Randy

Many thanks guys, for your opinions.

About the colors, i mix brown and black, until obtain the right shade, and after that i paint the shades with black only. The desert ironwood ont handle is a nice black and dark brown combination, soi hope to be ok. :) The knifemaker will make other pictures, im shore will be more better than mine , and will see the knife also. Like other pictures of him here

Beautiful work indeed. Yep we can all improve, thats for sure. Bout 25-30 years ago I was able to get some veg tan buff like that. Had the same grain pattern. I had a friend that was making saddles for Ted Turner and Jane and they had had the leather custom tanned from some of their buffalo from one of their buffalo ranches for these saddles. I was able to get some of the extra. I made a pair of saddlebags and a breast collar for a friend of mine that was cowboying. That leather wore like iron, it just shrugged off abrasion and hard use. Who is tanning this leather you are using?

This is tanned here in Transylvania by a family business. I like to use hard leather(4-5 mm) for knives sheaths. Only to folder sheaths or puukko,s use thinner leather(2,5-3 mm). I dont know if is ok to put here links from my yt channel or fb account, there is more works vizible. Buffalo leather indeed have more caracter and is hard to work with, but i like the result .But also with cow leather is ok, finer surface.

In my youth i work also in a horse tools shop, with leather. In that times i follow in love in tanned leather smels :)

Thanks for your opinion.
Chears, Gyula
