The Last of the Bushcraft in 3V

After these....there are no more.

(until the 2nd Production run, of course :foot: :D )






Here they are.....getting ready for glue-up...

The "handle-less" one on the left side is CPM 154 (old school blade)


I first lay cut out the handle material using a template I've made (slightly oversized). Then I lay out each handle to the appropriate knife...and make note of any variants.

The blades above are heat-treated and the flats have been bead-blasted and "brushed" with a scotchbrite belt. But the grinds need to be taken to a zero edge and then given a 120 grit finish. I do grind them completely before glue-up...but leave a burr on the blades - that gets stropped off later.

The handle scales are then drilled, flattened (inside surface only), counterbored and the fronts finished and tapered.

With a little more prep, they're ready for glue-up!

Darn,

I thought it was that one was unspoken for and therefore could go to me.
 
LOL!!!!





Seriously, though, folks....the ironwood on one of these pieces is literally TWICE AS NICE as normal. Same stuff...same durability...but double the visual appeal...when you see the pics - you'll see what I mean!!!

And NEITHER is spoken for. ;)

Why am I always late for these blades? You think there will be a 2nd run in the 3V versions?
 
If I can, I definitely call another one in Natural Micarta!
