Well boys and girls I am down to only one custom slip joint. I have had the good fortune to own quite a few over the years but they have all slipped (jointed :D) away. A wise man or maybe I should say a wise guy (Vince/VCM3) once told me something along the lines of "don't cry over those you no longer have, think of it as you had the opportunity to enjoy them for a time".

I'm taking this last one with me when I go. Kerry Hampton KHutbuster #6. Old Mephistopheles is going to be impressed.

Odd thread Rob,my good friend.People, you're looking at one of the most generous of fella's to ever post on this forum.Glad to call you a friend, and a good knife indeed. I hope you have time to re load

There must be something wrong with my browser. I cannot see the pic.

My circumstances are just the opposite of yours, Rob. My very first custom slipjoint is on order and should be in the "work in progress" stage in a few short weeks. In fact, it will be my first custom knife of any kind.

I am at the top of the slippery slope of customs. I suppose I better hang on tight.:)

You picked a nice one! (although I can't see the pic either)
I am patiently waiting for my number to be called by Kerry and a KHnutbuster is exactly what I am going to ask for.

Me too. I'm hoping I'm back to work by then an can get it.

That's a nice one Rob. I trust you'll carry it many more years before you both depart for greener pastures.

Rob I believe you have chosen wisely.
May it be a great companion to you for many years to come.

Hi Rob -

Great looking knife - thanks for the picture!

best regards -

If you're going to pick one to take with you, a knife made by Kerry seems like a great choice. I hope you get plenty of use out of it before that time comes.

Rob,

You're not allowed to go anywhere until you've used the heck out of that knife. I'm sure Kerry will be more than humbled by your decision.

That is one fantastic knife to be proud of for sure. In fact, I hope to grab one of those khnutbusters one of these days.

Now everybody stop talking about going to any better place and let's get back to livin' life. :)

Rob, this is an interesting and thought provoking thread. You have been a collector of custom folders and now no longer are.
I would like to know why this came about; what thought processes or events occured that enabled you to divest of your knives ?
I see it as taking courage, courage i lack at this point as i forever look at and for, another outstanding custom folder even though i already have 30 or so, too many to ever fully appreciate each.

With one left,Rob,what better time to re load!
A knife from Kerry could put out the fire, kill the bug, though.
