I had seen, on my last trip to a local Walmart, the end of a brown knife handel sticking out from under a pile of marked down Gerber boxes, compasses, scope mounts etc. in the glass case across from the now familiar knife picture display case. On the way home, it dawned on me what it was.

Tonight, my wife was making a return trip to this same store, so I decided to take a chance. I gave her a twenty and a five and told her to not spend any more than that. I drew her a picture of what I suspected I had seen, along with the model number and told her to buy it.

A little while ago, she presented me with my newest Old Timer, a 152 sharpfinger with a red label markdown on the blade of $19.96. She said that it scanned $15 and showed me the reciept! It was without a sheath, but I can find one somewhere.

SO, back to Walmart I will go again with a few dollars, to harass the clerks, and manager if need be, into digging into those cupbords below the sporting goods counters for stray schrades. No telling how many of what models lurk there in those dark recesses, pushed to the back behind restock items, lost and founds, and game regulation manuals. :D

Codger A Schrade a day keeps you broke

I did find from "wal-marting" that you have to ask the clerks who work in the sporting goods about the clearance knives. They tend to get "stuffed' somewhere else!!!!

I was there about 2 months ago & they had about 6 of them on a clearance rack for $4.00. All brand new in the clear factory packaging. Nothing was marked on the package itself, so I asked the sales clerk to scan it (thought it must be a mistake) & sure enough, she said $4.00. Couldn't believe it. I bought 2 & needless to say the rest we're gone when I went back a few days later.

WOW! And I thought $15 without a sheath for a wally-152 was a deal for real! Congrats on a good Schradeophile grab Mick!

"No Dear, I really NEED this knife!"

I'm hitting every WM I come by and none of them have any marked down or old ones in stock. :(

Oh well, I've got too many anyway (did I just say that? )

I've got 4 WMart's in my area & the farthest one is about 30 minutes from my house. I still see some Schrades when I make the rounds. $11 seems to be a popular clearance price.

I was at one of the local WM's and found a large lockblade, sharp finger, and a few small slips. I didn't pick them up, but I may run back up there tomorrow and buy them. The local hardware store has quite a few still on display, and from what I understand, they have plenty stocked in the back. I'll check and see what they have.

Made my way into the local hardware store this morning, and found a couple I wanted. I know I probably paid too much at $20 a knife, but I wanted them. I bought a 194OT, and a 77OT. I'm going to try Wal-Mart this eve.

Thanks,

Went to Dallas today to pick up some gun safe's and dropped by the Wal Mart in Garland, TX. I found a brand new in the box Tenn River Trapper TRT96 marked down to $17 bucks on clearance. Get her to the checkout and whooaaaaa it rang up at $11 bucks. I got the last one of these. However, they had about seven other models that were on clearance that I should have gotten. I've been wanting one of these models, and now I have it. :)

I shot a pic of it with the other two I bought today with a couple of older family members.
