I've deleted the pix to make room for others. If anybody wants to view it email me and I will email a copy.

There's the crack -- white arrows pointing to it. I filled it with epoxy and wood dust from another old handle I had laying around. It could almost pass for a grain line. I let it dry 48 hours before touching it up.

The knife goes with full HI guarantee. It weighs 3.5 pounds and is almost 5/8 inch thick. You will have a hard time breaking this one. Price is $175 and I'll pay the freight.

Call or email

Picking one of these up and holding it is almost a religious experience.

:
I have some salsa that some people say is a "Religious Experience."

It is too much for me and my back. That's part of the reason I settled for the 18"AK instead of the 20"-22." At 3.5 to 4.5 Lbs that is just too much for me.
If I gotta work that hard I am takin somebody with me to share in the fun.
The last time that happened was when we put up the last Sweat Lodge.
Then Sweat in it!!! What a day!!

This one is truely a sight to behold! It's bound to have some collecter value in the future. If not you can use it to scare the women and children!

Can't remember who, or exact words, but someone once said that a myth is as close of a representation as we can get to portraying the really real.

These Salyans are mythic.

They are the sumo wrestlers of khukuris.

I have been budgeting for a new laaaaarge 20-22" Ang Khola. What is the difference between the AK and this model?
Thank you
jim

What? Another knife? Don't you have enough of those things already?
How many does one person need?

Excellant description Rusty. There's just something about this model... I got mine as a replacement for the broken BAS. It isn't quite what I had in mind and I have contemplated trading it in for something more useable several times but I just can't bring mysef to do it. There is an extra bit of allure and mystique to this thing that has assured it's place with me. Helluva chopper too!

Jim, the major difference between the Salyan and 20 inch Ak is blade to handle ratio. Remember, I called the Salyan "stubby," and that's how it looks to me.

I think performance will be very similar to the 20"AK and we should know for sure in a month or so. Cliff has a Salyan in the air (or in customs) right now. He was one of the original people who ordered it. It did not come out as we thought but I think Cliff and his "little" brother will be very pleased with this knife.
