My The Leatherman Super Tool 300 was my everywhere pal for over three years living in the jungles of Hawai'i. I would put this good old American steel multi-tool against any other U.S.A made, or foreign. The blades were strong, the saw cut Keavi root and wood often and many other jungle living tasks that could be thrown up against it. It was a long period of time of neglect to it that it began to form a light layer of rust on it that was easily sanded out.The smallest blade in the knife tip broke after year's of carving heavy root wood with it and jamming lava rock with it. The only things that ever happened to it.I since lost it; However, I was able to locate another one and purchased it. Buy this Multi, don't waste your time with others if you really use these like they were intended.

All the Supertools have been really good buys. My original Supertool is still working well after a decade of regular use on my belt for instance (today I used it to take apart the chainsaw for cleaning, sharpened the chain with the file, and scrapped out the gunk from it. Then it opened packaging, cut up those soda can plastic holders, and tightened down the screen door retaining tabs that were loose with the pliers).

The Supertool 300 is even beefier and larger so you can put quite a bit of pressure on the pliers and it got a great locking release method nowadays. I also recommend it as a great buy and love the replaceable wire cutter they added. It is maybe a little too heavy for EDC roles, which is why I like the compactness and lightness of the original Supertool but it usually fits well in my briefcase, backpack, or desk and I have it with me as I go around the lab.

My Super Tool 300 is my primary and I have just recently decided to go with the Silver Stag Crown Series Deep Valley (6" D2 Steel blade with a naturally shed antler handle and brass quillion) as my bigger use tool. Simple, solid, and reliable combo.

Anyone know how the ST 300 fits in the Leatherman small Molle sheath? I just got my 300 in the mail and it came with a premium leather and nylon sheath. The sheath just sucks. The fit is very loose and I'm afraid I will loose my MT on the job.

The black ST3000 comes with the molle sheath, and it fits extremely well. Really great sheath, highly recommended.
