The letter stamped on the sebenza doesn't match the date of the birthcard

I recently read that the letter on the inner face of the Ti represents the range of months when the knife was made?

My starbenza says A 12
So A would range from January to April

My birthcard however says October 11, 2012. Is this normal or something that's not right? I'm new to the CRK family so I have no idea.

That's not uncommon at all. CRK will make a stock of scales and locksides, then use them up over several months. You're almost certainly fine there.

I bought a sebenza new that had a different stamp on each scale. I was worried that the scale had been switched so I called CRK and Heather informed me that those dates are used for manufacturing purposes only. There is no guarantee that they will match the birthcard or each other.

OK, so how about on the 25's? I just received a new 25 (Awesome, BTW) with a birthdate of 1-31-13. The date code on the inside of the scales is A12 on both sides.

Does this mean the scales were made 1 year ago, or was it supposed to be A13 and was mis-marked?

On a side note, I also have a small regular Lisa's pick with 2 different date codes.
