A father was going down the hallway and looked into his daughters room. It was spotless, everything picked up and put away. On the foot of the bed was a letter. He opened it with trembling hands. It read:
Dear Mom and Dad,
I am leaving this letter because I couldn't face you and tell you in person. I have eloped with my boyfriend, Dirk. You have never met him because I knew you would not approve. He is twice my age and has all those motorcycle and gang tattoos. He has a trailer in the woods and a whole stack of firewood, so we will be warm this winter and the baby will be OK,too. Yes, I am pregnant. Dirk has shown me that marijuana is harmless and we plan on growing it in a clearing in the woods, this spring. We can trade it to the others around us for things we need.I'm 15 now and can take care of myself,so don't worry about me. I hope we can come and visit you and let you see the grandchildren one day. We plan on having lots of kids. Until then we will work hard and hope that society will one day allow people of different races to live happily without judging them. Also I want you to pray that science finds a cure for AIDS and Dirk can get well. He has had a tough life and it wasn't his fault he got raped in prison...well not the first couple of times anyway.
Love, Kathy
PS none of the above is true. I am at Nancy's, listening to some new CD's she got for her birthday.I'll be home by 11PM. I just wanted to point out that there are worse things than the report card in my top dresser drawer.
Love, Kathy
