As many of you may know each year the CKCA (Custom Knife Collectors Association) has a small team make and donate a knife and sheath to be raffled with the proceeds going to cancer research.

This year I was chosen to head up the team consisting of Myself, Steven Rapp and Brian Hochstrat. This Bowie is the result, "The Cancer Fighter".

Please just take a few minutes to check out the information and consider helping out by purchasing a ticket.

Thanks so much guys,
Bruce D Bump

Dont forget if you win this knife you can re-sell it on the secondary market. Most ticket buyers are not knife collectors but people who want to make a differance in the world. I believe the value is at least $5000 and put in the right auction it could bring much more. Its a "Win Win" all the way around, you are helping to put an end to cancer and getting a High End bowie at the same time. Really it only takes one ticket of $25 to win this knife.

I photographed nearly every operation and documented the entire process on The Custom Knife Collectors forum. Please click here to see the WIP and how much work went into this one.

Not trying to be too mercenary but with 23 years working in Statistics how many tickets are for sale?

I imagine since the proceeds are going to charity as many as possible to maximize a contribution to a charity.

It is efforts by people like those who participated in this donating their own time and talent earned the hard way as well as many other efforts by others that makes the knife community of folks a very special group.

I can't say for this year, but if you'd bought enough tickets last year to pay for the work done the odds would have been 1:2 to win, that's pretty damn good; and you could have made money on the immediate sale afterwards.

But please, DON"T buy tickets; make my odds better.

Last year we limited the ticket quantity to 200 and sold them @ $100.00 each.

This year there's no limit and the tickets are $25.00 each or 5 for $100.00

A sincere thank you to everyone who has purchased tickets.

Bruce. I had to enter this draw. It's a Stunningly Beautiful Awe Inspiring knife & scabbard. It is in part Your work. The cause is So Worthy.
Hank, a good friend and super hard working local farmer, died of esophageal cancer 2 months ago at age 59, despite being a very healthy clean living, non smoker, non drinker.
Draw date October 8 2011 is my 65th birthday.
I bought 5 tickets for $100. What a super good deal for a super good cause and the chance of owning this World Class "Cancer Fighter" knife.
Hope i win, but regardless, i am very happy to be supporting this most needed research into the causes and treatment of this nasty fatal disease.

The drawing date has come and passed. Any word on the drawing, like how much money was raised? how many entered? Would be cool to know! Congratulations to the winner, too!

The winners name is Brent Haltom. Congrats Brent!
I havent heard the final tabualation yet but it was $7000 before the Fisk Mini Show where the drawing took place. Brent was at that show and bought the winning ticket. It was cool because they got a picture of him accepting the knife.
Thanks so much you guys that helped by purchasing tickets. I dearly hope our contribution will indeed help save lives from cancer.
