Probably a question for LT, although Larry or one of you guys may know... 'Collaborations' are all the rage now between custom knifemakers and big manufactors. Schrade's latest is the most butt-ugly one I have seen yet, but that's just my opinion. But many years ago, they did a collab with Bob Loveless. I think it was a drop point hunter (Loveless calls them 'Dropped hunters'), and from what little I can find out, it ended unhappily. I don't really need to know the dirt (as interesting as it might be), but I would like to see the knife.

Hope you all had a great, nice and long weekend. Oh, I suppose Don Luis didn't get today off like the rest of us. Sorry, Luis.

Attached is a picture of a second release early Loveless Schrade. It is a second release because it is not signed as the first release was. These became the PH ( Pro Hunter ) series after Loveless left the project. Notice the double rivits ( brass and nick silver, also the lanyard hole with the brass hollow rivit.)The originals were in this color. There is a smaller version which became the PH-2 while this became the PH-1 these were Schrades top of the line for some time and the ones under the PH series are a great and beautiful knife. They came in a multitude of handle materials. Rivits became solid, the tang was changed to Schrade PH-1 or PH-2 instead of just Schrade and while not all models had lanyard holes the ones that did were simple holes with no hollow rivit. I am sure you recognize the pattern when you see it. There were numerous articles written on this knife however I cannot find any at the moment. Since all you wanted was to see the knife I gave up looking for the articles and just took a picture. I have these in various materials and special editions it is one of my favorite patterns the stag are just beautiful. These have not been made for years with the exception of some special editions, contracts, ect. I hope this helps LT

Knew I could count on you, Lt. Beautiful knife. For sure a Loveless design, and I had no idea that is where the PH series originated. Makes sense now.

Appreciate it much. Now I really do have to buy one.

They had one of these at a local Sears years ago, I spent a good while handling it, it had a dark colored handle, nice looking, comfortable and seemed like it would make a handy user, another nice knife that I didn´t buy, why do prices have to double just for crossing the border ?.

No free day yesterday and this year we didn´t even get off for cinco de mayo, but with my type of work it doesn´t matter much, in fact we often take advantage of holidays to work with the computers, I don´t have very stable hours, sometimes I have to work nights or weekends, sometimes I just have to hang around and have time to surf the Web (and come to the forums).
