That is a great looking knife, I just ordered a single blade one off the bay I hope it looks half that good!

Really like the jiggin' and warm color of that bone, kinda looks like somethin' from the 30s.

what kind of machine does this? I know its a jigging machine...obviously, but is it like a router or blades or what? That one is beautiful and crisp :D

Thanks guys! I do love the bareheads...truly my favorite followed by any of the swell end jacks with bone covers. I have 4 of the GEC Barlows too...love those as well!

Very nice XXs, Dave!
I too find them hard to beat in terms of sheer visual pleasure!! Well jigged and dyed bone just makes the knife!

How about I add a simple Schrade Cut Co Barlow with peachseed, from the 30s-40s.

And some Schrade Walden goodness from ca. 1955.

Nice barehead, Dave!!
I had to search around for a barehead. Here's an Empire trapper type jack, with a nicely ground sawblade. This one is most likely the 1910 era, before WWI.
"Pickbone" is the term usually used to describe this stuff. Empire dyed a lot of bone, AND STAG, very black in those days. The dye seems to resist fading also.
