Today, i was to the Bay, as each day, for know how was the M9 bayo "temperature".
In astonishment and sadness I saw a model resulting from BUCK of whom I had purchase a few years ago, but with this time a doubtful information.
But, as say my American friends, a photo is better that a long speech.
BUCK Cie and his friends, will doubtless have a valid explanation for what looks like more a swindle than the other thing.

If you are uncertain about information given in the auction, contact the seller and ask.
He's legitimate. Hint...the location of the item is the same city as the Buck factory.....:)

Who is UNCERTAIN as you said ! Me...or the seller !

Sorry my friend, i'm an M9 collector since 2006. There's no place for amateurism in my business.

When a seller write, with self-assuredly that there are 3 units in 2009, and in 2012 change for a dozen... it is a fraud. For me, and the futur collector.

You may be having problems with the language.

He said THREE "H" stamped and also said "Maybe" a dozen "S" and "H" stamped knives in existence.

That does not contradict his previous statement.

Don't worrry, the seller is well-known and reliable.

Thanx BG42EDGE, but this actual auction is for the model " H ", not the model " S ".
We'll see, I sent a message to the Grand Master Houser, for know, if he have information about the seller.

Mister Moon,

Please do not link to active ebay auctions. It is considered "deal spotting" and is not allowed. I removed the link.

Thanks

Jason

Mr Moon.
I think the 3 was a estimation by the way. THERE were less than 12 with S or H markings still rare. Maybe only 3 high polished? . Very little records are left. I know for a fact that even some stuff on paper(documents) and what the people who were there at least on the MPBS program are sometimes two differant #'s. For example from my BuckMaster Knives book " BUCK then made 55 of the XM9 29 blades and sent them to PHROBIS III LTD, where Bob and Rick MacDonald assembled them with the prototype parts we had aquired to create the bayonets we would send to the U.S. Government for testing- even though many documents state different! Per the PHROBIS III LTD team, only 50 were were sent for the testing and 5 were held back for in-house testing at PHROBIS III LTD"

Maybe I need to write that PHROBIS III M9 bayonet book after all? I do have over 50 lbs of documents to sort threw!

Do you know who, what, why the H was stamped by the way? ;)

Hi Happy Rich,
Thanx for comments.

" H " as ... Houser :D

Hardness Test.

About your friend the machinist which had worked @ PHROBIS, i beleive that some years ago, he had put for sale, an XM9 on ebay, but, probably a "Ri-canstruction", cause, the tang rod color was not "grey-dark" as for the original XM9 PHROBIS. So..., as you say, some answers, are perhaps in your "50 lbs of documents".

MORE cool stuff

(Mine and Doug Olson/ PHROBIS XM9 #29's ) these were all pieced together with a pile of mostley handmade parts so the odds that the tang rod on one was a diffrent color than on another was great. Most of the parts were handmade .. ALL were hand fitted and put together by Rick and Bob MacDonald.. After the MASTER Paul Bos did his heat treat (which might I add IF Paul Bos didnt do this right and pioneer ZONE heat treat the XM9 #29 blades would of failed) and Leroy Remer did his magic on the blades dittos to BUCK on this!

what is correct? It cant really be that black or white! The one in the picture was just sand blasted.(hand made by Rick MacDonald by the way) sand blast was a quick easy way to put a finish in the PHROBIS shop!
I have seen XM9 # 28 with dark tang rods...
I am pretty sure that there might again Might of been diffrent color tang rods in the batch sent to the Army. So you really cant say this is or is not real because that rod is a different color. I spoke to Homer Brett on some fake XM9 out there. the dead give away are the blades.

I never say Real or Not ! I write Re-construction ! It's different great Rich.
Mine is Dark. As for the 4 others XM9 that i saw. ( In fact, i wrote Grey-Dark, but it's most dark that grey )
If i can, i will put the photo of the tang rod here : http://www.m9m4.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=engine&idcategory=1&currentpage=3
Now, it's time for me, to go to sleep.
Good night Cie !
