The Mailman Brought my #48 Blackwood!

I'm a terrible picture taker.

Opinions?

They have nailed the right size for a trapper with this one.

It is about the same size as the Schrade trappers, which I much prefer to the Case full size trapper, or their mini trapper.

The fit and finish are impeccable, and are nearing custom quality.

The swedges are crisp, even, and flawless.

The pulls are about a 6-7, slightly stiffer than my beloved #92 Eureka Jack, but very smooth with good half stops.

The Wharncliffe blade sits low enough that the knife still feels good in hand while using the clip, but not so low that it is hard to get to the nail nick.

I particularly like the way the classy shield sits flush with the scales. You can rub your thumb over the scale with your eyes closed and can't even feel where the shield is. Nice touch.

This one is a big winner all the way around.

Yep got mine today too. Fit and finish is superb. Its definitely one of my top 2-3 GEC. Blades are perfectly straight and centered. No gaps anywhere. Sharp out of the tube. Also its my 1st blackwood handled knife and i love how it feels inhand.

All of the handles in this new issue look good but my ultimate vote goes to the Blackwood, I like that shield and ringed bolster too.

My current dream version of this would be single Wharncliffe stainless but with the cloud shield, nickel-silver liners&pins. Bring it on!

Very nice, I picked up a smooth white bone and really like it.

That blackwood looks great, now I have to track one down......

Congrats on the new 48!

I love African Blackwood, it's a fantastic scale material both in looks, qualities, durability and it's smooth finish. I dare say it might just be my favorite scale material now. My EO #85 is in AB and I love it.

I'm glad to hear you like it. Wood is sorta neglected in the scheme of things compared to bone and stag IMO. I really dig that blackwood. The Wharncliffe blade is just begging to be used too.
