I figured that this one was unusual enough to deserve it`s own thread, so here goes. Over the next week I`ll be posting photos of the progress made on the Knatchet. Today I did the cardboard mockup to use as a pattern, and sent it to pitdog for approval, which he gave, but he`s worried the cardboard might not hold an edge. :D

Here`s the pattern on the steel getting ready for tracing.

I don`t have a bandsaw, so I drill a series of holes around the outline to save grinding time and belts. (primitive right?, but it works!)

If you look closely I stamped JG 1 on the opposite side of my K stamp.

Looks like you will have scrap steel left over to make quite a few EWOK's or other small knives.

Man you work quickly John !!!!!

That's looking great, how's it feel in the hand so far?

That`s what happens when I can`t sleep, I get stuff done. Feels like it will be a heck of a chopper, very blade heavy. The plan is to heat treat this weekend.

John that is awesome.
You truly are creative in your methods. Outstanding.:)
I love it.

I'm amazed at your cutting method. I was looking at the spine on my EWOK today wondering how you cut the spine so cleanly. Wow. You must have some serious patience!!!

That is going to look great:thumbup: I bet that protourist could use that to knock those lot lizards off when they come calling:p
