the Michigan Utility Knife. Starting tomorrow I’ll be posting pictures of how I make a knife. Some of my steps are a bit unorthodox, (most makers will probably laugh at how I do things, and my equipment), but it works for me, and my equipment budget.
I hope you all follow along, you might find it interesting.

Really looking forward to seeing who you make the magic happen John. As a side note: can you also shoot some pictures of your materials and how you store them. Thanks ;)

Could not sleep, so went to the shop around 3 this morning.

I was asked how I store my materials. As you can see, not very neatly!

Something unusual I do. I don`t have a metal cutting bandsaw, so if there is a lot of material to remove I drill a series of holes around the pattern.

Thanks John, I was wondering if you had a system down and this shows that you have a plan, a messy one but it works!;)

Excellent, I like WIP threads. Great to see how "The Master" does it!

As to a bandsaw, for metal cutting, I use a Dewalt portable with a setup that I made to hang it on the wall, and then made a cutting "table" for it. Very basic, but it gets the job done. I don't have pics handy right now.

There's also a kit out there for turning a portable band saw into a tabletop version.

I can't fathom doing that all by hand the way you do it, must be part of what makes your knives so special!
