Under the what's new tab(always seen when looking at new posts) there is a mark forums read button that fracks up my forum experience. There is already an option to perform this action under Forum: Forum tools.
This button is placed in the same spot as the the quick links under the forum tab, and sometimes causes me to lose track of what i've read and haven't read.
Is this button really necessary? Does anyone ever mark the forums read on purpose? I would appreciate if you would simpy remove the button.

Thank you for consideration.

I made the mistake of intentionally clicking on that button, one time a few weeks ago. I didn't like it either. I seem to recall a few members were very happy with that new feature. I am not sure why, but I'm sure they had their reasons.

The problem i have is the placement of the key. I have no problem that the feature exists, but that it is too easy for me to hit while navigating in my usual manner.

So the problem is that you are clicking before looking? :)

I am a creature of habit, and I am constantly clicking the button that is in the same spot on the forums tab. So yes I am clicking w/o looking. The problem comes when and only when I use the new posts function. Can you move the button, or make the text a different color?

I would have marked this a suggestion, but nobody respond to suggestions.

I get what you're saying. I use "quick links" to go to subscribed threads and click it out of habit. When the "new posts" page is open though it changes to "mark forums read" just for that page and if I don't catch myself I'll click it and have no idea what's actually new.

When clicking "mark forums read" under the forum actions box it at least gives you a prompt to confirm, but on the "new posts" page it does it right away. Very annoying.

Spark will you fix it? Yes, It could be avoided w/ user awareness. Will you fix it anyway?
