The mark on Buck Strider

Hi guys,

I can see from my Buck Strider spearpoint that on the blade there is a mark like "]" beside the "SB-1". I'm wondering what it stands for. Could anyone pleas give me some clue?

Hey,
In 1986 Buck started using symbols to indicate year of production. Yours was made in 2000. Peace,

That symbol is indeed the date mark for 2000. We made a change to the date code chart for 2002. The symbol for this year has been changed to a small anvil in celebration of our centennial.
