Got another pic of this one, this one isn't much better, but it shows the whole package. I called it the "MAZONA", It is a ladder pattern blade and blued damascus guard, with desert ironwood burl handle. Sheath was made by Robert Jones.

The overall is about 20'', with a blade of 14''.

The steel make up is w1 and 15n20

Now THAT'S a blade!!!! :D

Quite a fine rig you've made there....

Wow, I really like the lines of that knife but I wish I could see the pattern better, not to mention the grain of the ironwood, the details of the fittings, the sheath, etc.

May I plead with you to get this one professionally photographed? Trust me the picture will pay for itself

Thanks all,

Wulf, here's a couple in progress pics, the final etch is alot nicer, but this will give an idea. I had intendid to get the piece photographed, but never got a response, and needed to get it out. I guess next time ill go with someone else.

not wet in the pic, wood is just as sanded to 1500, i then buffed lightly on the buffer once it was done

That's really impressive.
Very beautiful and ergonomically shaped handle, the guard and that supper long damascus ALL look to be executed to a high degree.

Sheath is nice too.

VERY nice package! I like how you did the sheath/frog combination, and that damascus and burl look great.

Now THAT would be a blade to have in a knife fight, as discussed in the 2010 Best Bowie thread.
