So I really like the design of the Kirby Lambert designed Shockwave from Meyerco and since I can't afford to get any of Kirby's hand made knives or even the ones he makes for HTM, this is the closest I'll get to one of his blades. My first concern is with Meyerco-are their knives good or decent quality? I always thought their stuff looked a bit cheap but I really don't know anything about them. So if any one out there owns the Shockwave(I'm looking at getting the assisted opening version) but I'd like to hear opinions on either model so if you can help I'd like to know if the opening action is smooth and quick, does it come sharp, etc? I appreciate any help I can get.

Here's a pic for those who might not know it by name

I had a Shockwave and for the money it's a lot of knife. Fit and finish was acceptable, it came sharp and it was plenty sturdy for all but the most demanding edc chores. Keep in mind though, it's a big knife and it isn't light. But if you like the design, go for it.

I traded for one some time ago. It was OK. Nothing really to get excited about. I have no specific recollections to help, since I traded it away myself or sold it fairly quickly after. There are plenty of knives in that size and price range that would be as good or better. For instance, I'd rather have a Kershaw than a Meyerco, just because I trust the Kershaw brand.

I had one too.

Didn't like it because the pocket clip would flex.

Meyerco could be a good knife company if they would have better quality control too.

I also had one of the Darrel Ralph designed EDCs that has a gap where the carbon fiber meets the bolster, which feels real annoying.
