The MIGHT Knife... Because I Might just keep it

Spent some time during Thanksgiving finishing this Knife. Since I MIGHT keep this knife, I decided to make a sheath for it. For the record, I hate making sheaths. But when I finished this sheath, I was pretty happy and I MIGHT make more in the future. Actually, I was having issues threading, but when I drilled the holes with 1/16" bit, it wasn't so fustrating (thank you for the tutorial GrayKnives).

Oh yea, this is my second sheath ever made. I messed up on the molding so that imprint you see on the sheath is my bench vise. I wrapped it in a towel to prevent that, but I guess I used too much pressure. Next time I'll improvise better.

This is a 1095 blade (1/4") with a total length just alittle over 9" (just over a 4" cutting edge). Amboyna burl handle and stainless steel guard (1" wide).

Don't really like the look of the handle, but it feels great in the hand.

I'm still learning, and this is actually my second hidden tang Knife (with about 6 previous full tang knives). Still need some help installing the guards though. Also, I never epoxied this Knife, so if I pop the Mosaic pin out, everything can be disassembled. Not sure if I care anymore because I don't see myself taking it apart, but I wanted to pull that off on this one. I was also surprised that it didn't move around while I worked on the handle.

I made this because I wanted a tough knife (hence the 1/4") for when I deploy. This will be my battle buddy, heh :)

Looks like a good knife, nice hamon. Hard to tell about the guard because of the angle but I like that humidor :)

You may be able to remove those marks by rewetting the leather and pressing wit something firmer like like your sleeping bag mat. Make yourself a stitching pony or buy one for like $15 from Tandy, it'll make stitching more tolerable.

Feet and knees together. :D

Looks great to me bud, I leave small imperfections in all my knives! It helps people use them if they already look used. sheath work! I don't have the patience, that would drive me nuts!

That's a great looking knife. I think the handle is a bit large, but I think your craftsmanship is very good.

That handle looks huge, but I bet it's quite comfortable in a large hand, and is probably a huge advantage if say, it were cold and being operated with gloves. Beautiful wood too! ©
