But I can't decide on the Blade grind. CE or PE... I won't need the full serration's. Chances are I'll be carrying a Delica and a Multi-tool or SAK along with her for a PE Blade... and despite the fact I hate CE blades, I've heard the the CE on the Millie is an exception the rule that "CE are useless for normal cutting" and I think the design of it says so as well. I'm thinking the Delica will be my beater, Sheeple carry and maybe even a lender sometimes, the Multi-tool or SAK will be a Sheeple carry and if I ever need the tools... what the hell eh? And the Millie to be used for "Heavy Duty" cutting (which I don't do much) and a last ditch *cough*SD*cough* option.

I was considering a SE police, but the Police doesn't have much belly to work with.

Me too. I'm waiting for the BAKCA show so I can actually handle one before buying it. I'm pretty set on PE though as easier to sharpen and more sheeple friendly.

J-man,

IMO, I believe that the CE Millie is a prime example of what combo-edges should be. With about 2.5" of PlainEdge and 1.5" SpyderEdge, you have plenty of PlainEdge for everyday cutting tasks, with a small SpyderEdged portion for tougher chores. ;)

Alright, I'm set on CE. I don't have a single CE blade, and I always carry a 3"r or a SAK/Multi tool for a complete PE anyway. I've talked to a few other people and they say the Millie is the only good CE knife. Next pay is going to be the Millie in CE!

tough choice J-man...i've had both the PE and SE...the SE is easy to get very sharp using the spydie sharpmaker..othe knives with the combo edge have all performed great for me...the serrations at the back of the blade seem to work for heavy cuttin on course material while the PE portion allows control with the finer cuts..if you go with the CE go ahead and get the sharpmaker...its worth it coz you'll be gettin more spydies with the SE

I have a C77 (normal SE, not a ltd. PE one) on passaround, it works great. I'll post a link to my review in this thread a little later. But I don't need the full serrations for a EDC.

I'd always take the PE version of a knife. It's more versatile, and not to mention not as easily scaring people as a SE version.

I had the new blue Rescue in hand on a passaround, and the utility of a CE for tough jobs became apparent. The serrations really bite to start a cut, and the plain edge does a good job slicing and continuing the cut with minimal effort.

The Rescue is more appropriate for cutting fibrous material - rope, seatbelts, clothing, and whatnot. I'd want more plain edge than serrated for EDC. So the CE Military's balance sounds about right.

Regarding sheeple-ness - which is scarier a SE Cricket or a PE Military? I don't think a CE or SE Military is going to do much worse than a PE. YMMV

I have both and if I had to have just one it would be the PE.

Although the Military is long enough to suport a combo edge, I'd go with the plain edge Military. I always end up shelving my combo edges sooner or later. If you want a small amount of serration, carry a serrated Delica as a backup blade.

I was once a combo-edge advocate, but now I only carry my plain-edged knives.

Good luck,
Allen.

I used to hate CE knives, infact I don't have one in my collection. A few fully serrated ones, but no CE.

I'm going to go on Buzz's advice and pick up a PE Millie. But my choice could change anytime untill next pay... I'll tell you all what I get when I get it.
