I got it from New Graham last October/Novemberish.
When I can't remember how long it's been since I orginally got it, and considering I have carried it every single day since then, well I think it's been long enough to tell.
I am behooved by the 99% perfection that is the Manix.
The handle - almost perfect. A place for all my large fingers to go. A perfect thickness between a too thin Endura and a too thick Buck 110.
No play whatsoever. Solid as a bank vault. Glassy smooth.
A very sharp, gently curving flat ground edge on a blade of well tempered steel that splits hairs.
So big it can handle anything, yet it dissapears in the pocket. Light as a feather, strong as an ox.
And it cuts beautifully. Oh how it cuts, and capes, and slices, and penetrates.
You have cheated yourself out of business Spyderco. I haven't bought another folder since this one, and may not ever again!
Well that's a lie. I'll definitely want the upcoming Pikal model... and then I'll want to try something else... But I think I may very well always come back to the Manix and beg it to forgive me.
I've owned a lot of knives. I love knives.
There are only 2 knives I've ever bought 2 of. The first was the Endura, some years ago.
The second was the Manix. I'm considering getting a third in case I lose one.
This knife is officially My Favorite Folder Ever.
I have gotten rid of almost all of my non Spydercos at this point. The remaining Spyderco folders serve only as backups to the Manix. My Enduras, my Yojimbo, my Persian, my Renegade, my Gunting, my Dragonfly, my Spyderfly and all the others sit, stewing in jealousy of the Manix as it gathers day after day of pocket time.
Very few material things give me any joy in life. One is the Manix.
I want to start the Million Manix March. Care to join me in my obsession?
