As I understand it: the Barrage family of knives are "Assisted Flippers".
If that is the case: can they be "de-assisted" in order to be made legal in New York State?

If one were to be ordered through the Custom Shop: can you specify that with your order?
 
The Mini Barrage can be de assisted. I did mine but left the sliding lock in place, not that I ever use it, just a good place to leave it.
One word of caution if you do de assist. get a pie pan or some such so all those little screws don't wander off, It is not a hard job. Just un do all of it, remove spring and reassemble.
Helps to have a third hand available. Rubber bands help sometimes, Depending on how much Loctite was used, hot water does the trick.

I think you may find a Utube video available which will help.
