Well, my Mini-Commander has arrived today (No. 124) and it is a superb knife !
On initial inspection, the handle is very similar to the full size Commander, but has the grip serrations on the base of the grip and the top of the grip which align with the grips in the blade, both as in the SOCFK.
My version is the 50/50 blade in Black (not even sure if there is any other style). The blade is marked with the Emerson Specwar Logo, dated of course, and the name on the blade is 'Mini-Com' then the knife's number and under this, the patent number.
The blade doesn't have the same amount of 'belly' as my full size one (a '99 model), or the same amount of 'tip' to the blade, but for it's size, it's a very nice knife.
I did have to disasemble it and oil the pivot to make it open more smoothly and found that the pivot pin appeared loctited (am I right Derek ?). Anyway, after oiling and reassembly, it's now very smooth. It doesn't open as smartly as my full size model, but I think this is mainly due to the bigger blade having more inertia on opening.
Overall, another winner from EKI. It won't replace my CQC6 for daily carry (but what would ?) but I would have no hesitation in carrying it on or off duty !
So, who else has got theirs yet ?
