Anybody else here a fan of this pattern? I absolutely love it. I'm not much into the bigger slipjoints as I find they like to move around a lot in my pocket but I can get over it with the Moose. It's probably the most solid traditional I have had the pleasure of owning and it's very pretty to boot. Well, mine isn't very pretty anymore. It's a 1990 Case Moose that was in what I think was bermuda green jigged bone but was damaged by water prior to me owning it. I picked it up at a flea market on the cheap since it was rusted a bit and the bone was discolored from the water. I managed to clean it up pretty good and put it to use!

This morning I decided I was going to try and dye the bone so it at least looked a bit better (it was pretty hideous before) I only had red dye so I used it. I'm not terribly happy with the results and probably would never do this again to a traditional. It does look better than it did before though.

You can see which blade I prefer to use. The spey doesn't get much action.

I am looking to get another one so this one can be retired. Any recommendations?

Please show off what Moose or (insert plural form of moose here) you have. I'd love to see what you have!

Nice. I've had my eye on a moose for a while now. A purty green bone one...

I have gone to carrying heavy knives in a leather pouch--it distributes the weight better and keeps it from rolling around in strange ways. It surprised me how much I like it.

The Moose pattern is a great one. It is a big enough knife to do some real work with!

I use one of your pouches for my moose, keep it tethered to my belt, keeps it standing up in pocket right before bottom, can't even tell I'm carrying it.

P.S. what am I getting for my birthday? I have a package here from you , my wife used my paypal account, made me promise not to check my emails or open the package :-)

I just tried that with an old leather pouch and I really like it more than just carrying the knife by itself. Thanks! I'll have to get a nicer pouch though. This one is kind of rough.

Keep those pics coming gents! Some really good ones so far.

This pattern has slipped past my radar before, but I really like the look of it. Nice GEC Pete, and that's a great way to carry it

I've said it before, several times, but that first shot of Pete's is one of my favorite knife photos. It also prompted my interest in this pattern and lead to the purchase of my Brimstone. I'm still on a mission to recreate that photo. The weather isn't great, so maybe in the bath tub? Thanks Pete :)

Great job on that Moose! It is definitely one of my favorite traditional patterns.

(Im carrying this one today:thumbup::D)

This knife I got from my wife as an anniversary present last year.

Like Andi, I had a 66 moose. I no longer have it, sold it to qncygnnr a few months ago when I needed cash more than a box full of knives. It remains, however, one of the most attractive knives I have ever owned.

Alongside the rotten banana Northfield jack and the hunter green Camillus jack.

Good photos of the species I think. :)

I have half a dozen of the 66 series moose and it is one of my favorite patterns. The aesthetics of the knife are incredible but I just don't have any need of two full sized blades unless I am out in the woods. I have a feeling the moose would make an even better hunting pocket knife than the trapper.

You guys have some beauties! Kind of puts mine to shame:o

Do Certain GEC Moose(s) have half stops? I see most of them do not but Pete's does as well as mine. I kind of like the idea of having half stops on this particular pattern since it's such a big blade and the backsprings are pretty dang stiff (At least mine is)

Mine is a #54 which is a little bigger and older than the #66, also mine is a equal end or cigar pattern, the #66 is a serpentine pattern, if that helps.

CB-R that brimstone is great looking, that and the autumn gold, are scales I would like on something else in the future.
