I just received not one, but two new Cold Steel knives as Christmas Gifts from my youngest brother this year!

The first is a Cold Steel Magnum Tanto II and the other an Outdoors man, both are excellent blades, although I did experience some difficulty drawing the Magnum Tanto II from its sheath at first.

Out of the two of them, I think I like the Outdoorsman just a bit more because I can see more practical uses for it, but the Magnum Tanto II is also a terrific knife which is a bit nostalgic to me because the first fixed blade knife that I ever owned was a cheap knockoff of the Magnum Tanto II by BUDK.

Two great knives on the greatest holiday there is, what's not to like?

Very nice indeed. Others including myself have had trouble with those sheaths. I ended up having someone make a sheath for me. Again, very nice presents!

The Outdoorsman draws easily, but the Magnum Tanto II requires a fair bit of downward/inward pressure on the thumb ramp accompanied by a firm tug to unsheath.

I honestly struggled with it at first, until I figured out the technique it felt like it was gorilla glued into the sheath.
