The Most Fun I Have Had With A Knife In Three Decades

Got myself a Buck 830 Marksman for Christmas and didn't bother gift wrapping it.

Sure, there is nothing innovative about a ball bearing raced flipper blade, but the updated take on the strap lock is cool, different, and very well executed, and the knife is delightfully light due to its aluminum scales.

Like the title says, haven't had this much fun just handling a knife in a long, long time and through thousands of dollars spent.

Thank you Buck Knives, this one is definitely a keeper just for how unusual it is. That it is also a great bargain for its level of fit and finish is just the bow on top of my gift.

For the price, it's an amazing value. Solid lock, and really good steel. The weight is lighter than it looks because those aluminum handles.

Mine swings out so hard it feels like an auto.

Glad you like yours.

Loved this model as soon as it came out. We have a lot of people in the shop that once they get their hands on this knife, have to have it. Grant and Gavin come up with some cool stuff, this is one of my favorites!

Excellent, Boats. I hadn't encountered this model yet, but your post is making me curious... I may have to have this one too.

I have yet to try one, it looks like it would be a great platform for different bladesteels as well.

Thanks Boats!

I like the design - very nice - thanks for your post.

I'll look at one of these in January - I have not bought a Buck for myself in a while now.

best
