It's a given that we are all "knife knuts" and always have a knife at hand.My question is , who has carried the largest # of knives on their person at the same time?
Sure. we carry our Spyderco Delica as a money clip, our Axis 710 for utility,an SAK for the scissors, the Gunting for slice and dice, and maybe a custom, but , do we really need so many?Or do we carry just because we enjoy cutlery?

P.S. If you are afraid to walk past the "crane magnet" at the junk yard, it may be a sign you "carry" too many knives.

I hope Dexter answers this question! He has a pic of himself and all the knives he carries. Pretty scary stuff.

The most I have carried is three.

Heh heh heh! Everyone knows I am the undisputed champion of having the most knives on my person at one time. "The Vest" has become something along the lines of BladeForums lore, and my trademark. Roy Orbison had his dark glasses, I have the vest

I would say I've had around 20 on me at once. Mind you, this is not the standard daily carry. I only get "dressed up" when I'm going to knife shows with my fellow NCKK folks!

You hit the nail on the head! It is hard to pick just one favorite knife, so I carry all of my favorites

Takes me a while to get ready for shows, usually have to load up the night before

When I went to the Chesapeake show last weekend, I carried (most of them in my backpack) over twenty custom made knives worth more than $10K, just for defensive and offensive show-and-tell purposes.

Do I win something?

(I got a dojo to donate it...)

daily average is 5. the most is probably 7 or 8, unless i am going to a show, then maybe a few more

At the risk of flaming people, is it really necessary to carry such a redundant number of knives?

I'm really curious as to why some of you guys carry so many knives at one time: Do you find yourself going through a lot of knives during the day? Does your work/hobby require varied knives? Is it a neurosis? Are you just being a poser?.

I know it's an individual thing, but I would think it's rather cumbersome. The most I've ever carried is 2 - one small, one large.

FTC, they're just showing off, there is no practical purpose for that many knives.

Except for Dexter who needs the weight to hold him down on a windy day.

I've carried as many as 6 or 7. When I'm carrying that many, it's usually on a LONG hunting trip. They will be

1:Small Bird and trout knife/hunting knife (in fanny pack)
2:Backup to above, in case I loose it in the woods (In main pack)
3:My "regular" carry knife - Usually a gent's folder. Just because I always carry this.
4:Trim 3 in 1 - If you really count this as a knife - It's more a nail file/bottle opener - I almost never use the knife blade. This is on my key ring

This is my typical "Hunting" rig. If I'm going to camp out, I'll add a Buck 110 to my belt (camp chores), and have one or two times, added a skinner

My usual? Two - The Gent's folder (as of now, a WH Lancet) and the 3 in 1. If I KNOW I have to do heavy cutting, I'll add the Buck 110 or a fixed blade

Same as russ.

The most knives I have carried at one time is 2. I usually only carry one. It is ethier a 710, 720, or a CQC7. ( I like BM's )

Standard Daily Carry:

Laguiole pocket knife (rosewood scales)--this is my 'Gosh that's a pretty one,' knife (good for soothing sheeple).
K-OS Bargain Bin--The first folder I've successfully made (and I'm not too proud of it...I'm not afraid to get it all nasty)
Spyderco Endura/Police Model--in matching stainles or Zytel, depends what I'm wearing (this makes short work of Cat 5 or boxes)
Leatherman Super Tool--'Nuff said.

I carry that many, because in the course of a day, I may need different blades for different tasks. And invariably, if we're opening a bunch of boxes or stuff, somebody needs to borrow one while I'm using another.

Charles Gallo has a legitimate reason for carrying more than one knife. However, I think 6 or 7 is overkill even for a prolonged hunting trip.

Perhaps, a better question for your situation is what would be an efficient number/types of knives.

As for some of the posers who are desperately trying to look and act dangerous: Try dressing up like Fonzie and saying "sit on it" a lot. I hear the chicks dig it!
