OK, so first of all, don't laugh at the pricepoint of this knife, you'll be pleasantly surprised what $20 can buy. I just picked up a Bladetech Mouse, and what a great knife for the price, and a great little knife, period.
The knife, total length, is 5", the blade 2". I'm no expery, so I don't know what you would call the blade style, but the material of the blade is AUS8A, with G10 handles, and a silver pocket clip. It comes in Black, Mil Green, Pink, and the color in my pocket, Safety Orange. The knife is well made in Taiwan.

Out of the box, it comes close to razor sharp. Though this blade will never baton wood or skin a deer (maybe a mouse, though), it has alreay been great for all of the daily tasks I look for in a knife: cutting twine, paracord, nylon straps, plastic clam packs, and ever 1" rope.

Look, this is no Busse chopping blade, but it does a great job making fuzz sticks, so it would be worth keeping in your pocket survival kit for fine tasks.

Self defense? I suppose. It's small size makes it a great pocke sd knive for a last resort.

This is my first review. Sorry I'm not expert, and I'm not reviewing the holy grail of knives, but I found this little guy review worthy for the Subcom, Vic keychain knife, or any little blade guy.

Check one out!

The mouse was originally a spyderco collaboration, before Bladetech was founded. When first introduced, I believe the designer indicated he did dress a mule deer with one.

That probably explains it similarities in blade shape and the hole for opening w/ your thumb. Thanks for the info. It makes me like it a little more!

I had an older CF version of this same blade (it was my first serious knife over 50-60 bucks) quite a while back and I loved it. It's a very smart design in my opinion and better than similar sized knives out there like the Subcom family (had 2 of those) Kershaw Centofante or Spyderco Ladybug. My needs have changed now, but I still miss it sometimes...

The Taiwan made BladeTech Mouse is a very good knife. The ones I've seen had FRN handles that look like they were molded to resemble the fabric-like texture often seen on G10. Ergonomics are very good for a smaller knife, lockup is solid, the steel is good. My only quarrel with the design is the pocketclip, which I find overly tight, possibly as a result of poorly thought out bends. I've compensated by slightly bending such that it floats slightly above the handle.

Yeah, I noticed the tight pocket clip when I got it stuck on my pants pocket and had to pull it off w/ 2 hands. I'm thinking about removing the clip and just carrying it in my pocket w/ a small lanyard for easier access.

If you look at the Blade-Tech Pro Hunter, you can see the original design in that line.
The Mouse is a mini version, but did come from a hunting background. :)

or you could remove the clip, bend it a little to reduce the tension, then put it back on the knife.

I have the 440 C Seki City version and love it:thumbup: I wish I would have bought the G-10 version before they got scarce, but the textured FRN is nice enough.
