AND IT WAS THE BEST SCREW UP EVER! Thank you!

We went to the Jack Johnson concert last night. The Mr had bought me tickets in May when they went on sale. We knew we had seats in the front and was so excited. What we didn't know is we actually had tickets for THE PIT! We got there early enough that there was NO ONE in front of me the whole time. I was not moving over for anyone either!

And on a hilarious note. Neither of us remembered to take blades off of us. I had an ESEE-3 in the bottom of my purse and he had a pocket knife that he dropped in my purse. The "security" was so worried about my empty sheath and tiny leatherman hanging on my purse that they neglected to find the 2 knives in the bottom of my purse! :rolleyes:

That's crazy about them not finding your knives.... makes you wonder what other people might have had on them :eek:

Exactly! They were concerned about my name on my Drivers license matching the name on my pill bottle though. :jerkit:
 
Once on an episode of Stargate our heros were captured and placed in a cell.
As they started an escape attempt one of the party took out a knife.
The others asked him why it hadn't been found by their captors.
He shrugged and said something along the lines of "I carry two, one for them to find, and one to keep."

i only like small venues.
 
There's a contradiction in terms, Jack Johnson and Pit! LOL!!! I was in the pit at the Metallica concert about 10ft away from James Hetfield and that was pretty f-ing cool! I just don't know if the 2 pits are quite the same....:D Good pics guys and sounds like y'all had a bitchin time!

I got the wife and I tickets to Lisa Lampanelli next month. That is a show where we DID NOT want to be in the front row. :D

Nice that you went there.
And a bit of professional deformation babbling - security on most concerts is more concerned with what women have under their shirts than in their bags. And cool that he went on the speakers but I can name at least 3 ppl that would have killed him right after he got off the stage because of that
 
Sounds like y'all had a blast! Good thing they didn't find your blades! And that they didn't know your forum handles, that might have made them nervous! Might have strip-searched you looking for the shotgun! :)

I'm so out of touch with today's music, I don't even know who Jack Johnson is! :D

Looks like a good time!

I always have issues with security and how they search. I did nightclub security in huge venues for about 5 years. At some venues we used to hire off duty police officers do the searches. They let gangs in with umbrellas (wasn't raining). The gang members would buy umbrellas with long metal points at the end of them and file them down to a very sharp point.

The officers also let kubatons on keychains pass. I was shocked and not happy as I was on of the guy;s on the floor.

We had to give them a class on how to search and what to look for. So many people who do searches don't actually have a clue what they are doing.
 
jack johnson's "banana pancakes" is one of my favorites. pretty sweet you both got to check him out in concert. i believe he's making his way out to cali soon.
 
Went to a large outdoor concert in may. wife and I had folding chairs, all they were looking for was liquor bottles, couldve had a rifle in that thing. Never checked us personally, missed Emerson and Izula on me
 
Well, with the title of this thread...I was sort of half expecting to see Mike laying on the floor and you standing amonst a bunch of empty 556 cases so this thread turned out better than I expected. Never heard of the guy (maybe I spend too much time in the woods?) but it's always cool to have great tickets at a concert. Glad you had a great time!
