What do you get when you cross a MRS with a Game Warden? A Mutt ??? :p:p

This Meaner Warden sports a high flat ground with slightly polished flats to give it a little contrast. The handle was shortened and also a little bit of the hump on the top of the handle was removed. The edge was thinned down but not near zero as I would do on my own knives.

This one is going to a INFI Brother up north in Canada.

Been thinking about flat grinding my MS too. I would leave the handle alone on mine but that looks good too :) If only I had a couple more to play with. Thanks for sharing!

This one was done as a request for someone and I really like the feel of a GW sized handle on a MS blade. It makes it a much more compact package

The GW Handle is about as small a handle as I would want for a EDC type blade. While the MS is about as long a blade as I would want for a EDC. The Meaner Warden is really a minimalist as far as the handle goes but maximizes the blade length.

As with most things... this might not be everyones cup of tea, but it fills my cup just fine ;)

I will definitely do another one for myself very soon.

So do I, can't wait for her to come home! That is one of the better ideas that has crossed the mind. This one's a keeper.
This is one that Jerry should try someday soon, I think it would really fly. (Pigs fly you say:p?) Just waiting on a set of pants from Dwayne (Sorry if spelt wrong!) and this ons's ready for EDC duty.
Thanks Ban!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

You do some amazing work. I wish I had the skill and guts to give that type of mod a whirl. Your thinned out PBS is still my favorite though. I would love one of those someday. Keep 'em coming.

Ban, really thoughtful and well executed changes! Is the handle as short as GW or same basic shape but a little longer? The idea of lowering a bit of the hump is something I have considered on my AD just for more perfect fit to my hand.

Bill

Here is something I may do some day... give it a drop point; but I'd leave 1/8 inch of pommel. For me the GW handle is a bit short for larger knife.

I I like mod, what I like more is the grind you do on the knives. Do you take it to a V grind or make it convex?

The handle is the same length as the warden with only the hump grounded down. The mod MS handle is still more hand filling than the GW because of the thicker handle slabs. For myself I would enlarge the finger guard some more.

Tony,

Come to think of it. This Meaner Warden is about the size of a bushcraft type knife ;) Put on a drop point and it is good to go ;)

Yup:thumbup: I have noticed that for some time... but a small version of a BA-III would be better:D

Very clean work Ban...

I just got one of those TigerHide Active Duty's
and I was trying to compare it to pics of the GW and MS.
And it looks like they are made from the same blank
with just the handle butt and blade profile ground different.
Am I correct?

I don't know how long I can leave the coating on the AD...;)

The GW, AD, and MS all share the same basic handle slabs. Actually, the AD and the MS have the exact same handle slabs. It is just that the MS has an extra little more metal protrusion at the butt.

The GW handle can be had if you just ground off all of the metal protrusions and slightly more to round off the butt profile.

Have to think about this...

There are a 'few' of us with a whole lotta Wardens and MS's... :D

Don't be shy guys, you know you want one just like this, hear it calling your name, I know I did. (or was that just my other voices, hmm???) Makes for a very practical edc, at least until Jerry brings out that longer version of the warden (pure speculation on my part of course!:p) Hopefully along with the folder....:p
