The Music Man movie - no more knife

On ABC tonight they had a recent remake of The Music Man.

In one scene in the original they had the little kid with the lisp coming home. As he was walking, he had a pocket knife which he got fom Professor Hill.

In the new version, he comes home and now has a jar of worms for fishing and a rabbits foot. Guess its a sign of the times.

Being a sucker for any Broadway musical, I loved Matthew Broderick and Disney's The Music Man. I didn't miss an absent knife. But you're right...changing times.

i read that Disney will be editing out Peter Pan's knife. should make his duel w/ Hook interesting.

:grumpy: That figures... My kids have been on a Peter Pan kick lately and I couldn't help but think about all the knife action in this movie. I especially love the first scene on Hook's ship where all the pirates are throwing their knives at Smead (is that his name????) using their feet, mouths and every part of their bodies. I commented to my kids "Man, those guys are good with their knives!".
