No rigid structure, and no "wrong answers" in this thread...

Since it's a topical conversation and pops up in other threads here and across the forums...have at it!

Any music stuff you want to share and discuss?

I'll start...gonna redo the systems in a room of the home and one of my vehicles over 2014. Going to be a fun couple of projects, for sure.

I am trying to get rid of this SWR cabinet and get another Aguilar cabinet just like this one hehe!

Love of Music (Rock&Roll primarily) Definitely got me started in my Audio Hobby (If I could have played Music.... probably would have gone in a slightly different direction)
Mood enhancer as well as setter. A MUST at any great party or event and just try and watch a movie without a soundtrack and see how that works even if it's the Exorcist or Halloween.
It trully is the Language of our Soul, crosses ALL boundaries. Wow! Music and Knives have a lot in common.
Maybe due to the primal connection.

One of my long-term projects as well, unfortunately my SIL is living in my future "theater/audio room".

An idea I've been playing with is to go a bit retro and pick up a decent turntable and set it up with a modern but old looking vacuum amp. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about either of those things :)

Yes I have to agree! I could live without TV. But not music! I love my music. I just bought an amp and subwoofer to complete my theater surround sound. I'm pretty damn happy. It's nothing too extravagant. But it does the job well. I've got 5 in wall JBL's and a Polk 10" sub all hooked up to a Yamaha receiver. I've been thoroughly impressed!!

AZ2AK I hope you get yours setup up soon! So you can enjoy it!! Not saying throwing your SIL out!!

I have no musical talents that I know of... Besides maybe jamming out on Guitar Hero!!

I've found as I'm getting older, my taste of music has changed a little, but the biggest change is what I look for in a system.

When I was a teenager, I had a Honda Civic with 20 speakers in it - yes really. You could hear me coming from a few blocks away. I thought bass was where it was at.

As the years have passed, I've come to appreciate the clarity in some of the higher end systems. My first exposure was in an Audi I owned that had the upgraded Bang Olufsen system in it. It was simply incredible. I would find myself just setting in my garage listening to my music. While it didn't shake my rearview mirror, I heard parts of the music I had never heard before. That spring boarded to purchasing some B&W MM-1 computer monitors and B&W P5 headphones.

When my Blose Lifestyle 35 systems bites the dust, I will be on the lookout for something that can reproduce my vehicle's BO system in my home.

I competed in a few IASCA events years ago...so your "yes really" rings right at home...mini trucks can hold a lot of thump.

I'm starting to shake..... don't get me started talking Home Audio (oHHHH AHHHHHH NO!)

Home audio, car audio, musical instruments, music in general, where do I start?

I have experienced amazing audiophile home theaters, ones where you see the speakers, but swear there are invisible musicians playing invisible instrument right in front of you. Someday I might, but currently I have a Klipsch Synergy setup, F3 towers, C3 center, SUB12.

I was into car audio, did a Riviera up real nice. The doors had 2 6.5" midbass woofers in sealed encloses, made for a real tight punchy bass. The 3 12"s hit 142db. I still have my ZX475ti amp, maybe someday I'll put it to use.

I always listen to music when I go to bed, I hooked up a nice sounding set of computer speakers to my iPod, and put a speaker on each nightstand, so it sounds like having headphones on.

BT, your photos bring back very fond memories.

My rig was running MB Quart mids & highs, JL Audio subs and RF amps...head units ran from the best offerings from Alpine, Pioneer and Clarion among others. Then, a MVA totaled my pride n joy; dream was crushed and interest in all-out comp-worthy systems was lost...but not forgotten.

Just enjoying my Christmas music this morning on my AudioEngine A5+. I highly recommend these powered speakers for the price point and quality. Especially if you add their DAC(Digital Audio Converter) to listen to some FLAC(Lossless Audio). Talk about hearing things you don't normally hear. Plus you can hook up anything you want to these speakers :)

Come on "guys".

I know you have a lot more to share here.

Got any songs stuck in your head today?

Anything to remove the Christmas music is welcome....So long as its not some of the recent boy-band garbage of late.

For you Need2Know, my favorite Christmas song from my favorite Christmas movie (besides Bad Santa):

My favorite Christmas movie is Die Hard...and I think that RunDMC song is in it.:)

Every year try to watch the Christmas-time musts: Nat. Lamp C-Vacay, Gremlins, BADer Santa, and so on...

I'm a long time fan of the drums. Love drumming... actually trying to sell this 1800 dollar kit to fund some more RHKs. :D

Gretsch maple custom
