Is this still available?

I've found a post saying that only 3 were made? The pictures were long gone, but I would love to see one. Even the picture on the website is hard to see. Can we contact Auntie to enquire to have one made?

I remember seeing a Katar when I was a kid in a book, and I was always impressed by this classic Indian weapon.

for Reference, this is a picture of Katar:

Wow, that would be incredible. I'd love to have an HI Katar, just don't know if I could actually afford one if they were actually made again!

From the HI picture thread:

Sorry for low quality pics.

To think, I was going to post that if anyone could find a picture it would be Mr. Tall, go figure. The Meister of the archives.

Wow - ya dont see that everyday, beautiful. Thank you for sharing Mr Tall

Amazing piece!

In the meantime, I looked it up, and it seems that owning or importing this kind of blade would be illegal in Canada as it would be considered a "push dagger"

It's a shame!

Any chance of getting it labeled as a "curio" if the Kami's don't sharpen it?

Here's the one I sold. The smaller photos shows it in relation to other blades. It's a beast.

I would love to have one of those if it's not too heavy to lift.

Of course I couldn't take it anywhere, but it seems ideal for home defense, like against an armored gorilla. :)

I wouldn't call it a push dagger. Maybe a push sword.

I think it's a working piece of art and would love one for posterities's same. Not meaning to seem mundane, the aggressor would meet a .45 or 12 gauge slug first.

Great pix and post by Steve Tall and

Have been looking for a proper Katar for quite some time.
All I could find where cheap cast metal versions made in doll house cutlery sizes.

Super cool that HI actually made some real and usable version.
If there's ever another production run I'd be on board.
