Another great show from the folks at the NCCA! These are the best "little" shows on the east coast, IMHO. A good mix of traditional patterns, customs and factory stuff. I encourage anyone in the New England area to come out to these shows; they`re always worth the trip.
I was able to make a trade at the show. I traded a NIB mini SOCOM, plus a little cash, for a Kershaw mini Task and one of the new Mel Pardue Axis locks from Benchmade. When I saw the scans of the new Mel Pardue, I wasn`t really impressed, but now that my son made me buy one, it`s really a sweet little cutter! It`s a much more useable size than my 711.
I also met a BF member. His screen name is TR and I don`t think he`s posted yet, which is a shame because he seemed like an intelligent, opinionated person. A typical BF`er! I met him at a table that had a grey handled Matriarch for sale. (!) I was curious as to how the guy came about it. (After all, it was only offered to BF members, and for retail in Israel and South Africa!) The guy selling it was not too impressed with it because he thought the tip would break. He was under the impression that it was for LEO`s to cut seatbelts. Any BF member worth his salt KNOWS that the Civilian and the Matriarch were designed for self defense! The guy didn`t stand a chance arguing about Spyderco product with a couple of BF members! Hey, we get our info from Sal Glesser himself! Top that!
All in all, a great show. Get out to the next one in Marlborough, Massachusetts!
