Hello, Just found this knife, dont know to much about it. Its pretty wicked and sweet. How long has this knife been around and what the purpose of this knife?

Thanks..

I think its been around since the last coming of Haley's comet! Really, I have no idea...but for the purpose? Its all in the name!

As for how long it's been around, I'm not all that sure. But the purpose? Of a knife?

Prying. Yep, go buy one and pry with it all you can - they definitely aren't made to cut, slice, etc. The only thing better than a knife to pry with, is a firearm. Nothing beats the barrel of a 12 guage when you need that last little bit of *umph* on the floor jack. Make sure it's loaded though. What good is a gun if it's not loaded?

Sorry, the smartass in me had to jump on that one. :D

Edit: Oh, and if you blow the hell out of your floor jack while trying to use the barrel of your 12 guage as a prybar, then you probably deserve what you get. Please, don't really do that.

They've been on the market for about a year now. They're for cutting things and looking funny :D.

Not sure if this helps, but the manufacture date on the tang of mine says APR 07. It has a wharncliff blade, so that tells me it's made for general utility / everyday work.

Yup, the name pretty much sums up the knife, a great general purpose utility folder. Definitely an excellent yet inexpensive American made knife, that'll get you a big blade to handle ratio and SpeedSafe to boot.

Having said all that, if you take a picture of it next to the right sidearm, you can let your imagination go wild on what it really might be for.
