We have a thread about used knives, how about a thread about abused knives?

Knives that got broken or destroyed because of bad use, abuse or neglect.

for example

i got this diving knife from my brother

he clearly had his fun trying to sharpen it in my dad's gardenshed on the grinder

i bet it was about twice thi size when he bought it! :D

also welcome pics from the remains of deliberate destruction tests and etc.

here is one who got broken and i salvaged with some ugly tape
and another who'd been in the sink for waaaay too long

Totally painful! As ET wouild say, "Ooouuuuch!"

Looks like it went through a thresher.

It would be cool to see if you could smooth it all out and put a convex edge on it. A Bader and some fresh 60 grit belts would be a good start.

Depending on how bad the damage is he may of burned the temper from the steel.

Hey, could this be a "challenge knife" for someone on this forum?

hehe yeah well, i dont have the tools to fix this

but the dive knife is a good example of ppl with a grinder trying to sharpen knives the wrong way
