Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Big Box O Knives never ending giveaway. I won the other day and now its time to pass the box onward. As always the GAW works like this. You put your name down with an "Im in", the people who entered the prior GAW are already entered. If you win, you pick out whatever you want, and put something in to replace the stuff you want. It doesnt have to be equal value, or even knives for that matter, but something to keep the GAW going for others. Then you do a give away with the "box o knives".
My wife and I were sorely tempted by all of the cool prizes, but we narrowed it down. I tried to pick some of the heavier items to slim the box down for the next winner, since it has been growing over time thanks to everyones generosity. I took a Schrade Sharpfinger that Im going to make a new sheath for (a fun quarantine project for me), a Marbles Toothpick, a Western Trapper, Imperial and Craftsman Stockman, Case Jack knife, a Camillus Congress and a Rough Rider Whittler (like their version of a Case Seahorse Whittler in yellow delrin. I dont have a whittler, and I like to whittle, so I couldnt resist!)
I went a bit outside the box with my additions and put in a themed prize pack. I figured that a ton of people are bored with all the Covid stuff going on, so I made up "get outdoors" pack. I put in a nice navy blue Case Sodbuster, a very nice Buck 303, a leather pouch that I made to go on a backpack hip belt (it would work on a normal belt too) and a leather knife sheath that I made to fit the smaller knives in the box (I made it to attach to a belt or carabiner either on the left or right), a nearly new red Maglite AA with pouch, a Gerber Shard, a Victorinox field sharpener card, and a felt knife slip. Hopefully somebody can use this stuff out camping and have a good time. Theres 28 other prizes in this box too, so youre bound to find something you like!

Sounds like some excellent contributions to the box, someone is sure snatch them up right away.

Sounds great! Enjoy the Craftsman and the Case! The Imperial was a snappy knife as well. I almost went for that one.

I have never had a pattern like that Imperial, so I thought that was pretty neat. I dont know what to call it even. Its like a stockman but equal ended with different blades? Does it still count as a stockman with a spear main blade? lol
I just oiled the joints on that Case actually, and its really nice. Thanks a bunch! Ive always wanted a jack knife like that but I just never have gotten one. I was between the neat little Kabar barlow that was in the box, and the Case. I eventually went with the Case, but it was touch and go for a while lol

Every time around I am tempted to throw my hat in for this box, but it never feels quite right. Part of it is that I have a hard time figuring out what knives I would add to the box. I see ones I would take, and ones I think my kids would like, but I have a hard time parting with any of the traditionals I have. For now, I will continue to watch the never-ending giveaway go on.

Great to see this moving along. I'm surprised the SharpFinger lasted as long as it did. you added some nice prizes yourself.
Me too. Maybe because it didnt have a sheath? Or maybe because it was modified. The tip was ground down slightly, it looks alot like a Spyderco Stretch to my eye.
