I just finished up the prototype for my updated LMRK. The original was a straight forward knife. 5" blade 4" handle. Single or double edge. It had a nice review in Tactical Knives. However, I wasn't satisfied with it. It was always missing something. After about a year of thinking about it. I came up with the changes I thought it needed. While the handle was comfortable and practical, it was more a single grip design. I didn't like that limitation. The handle also needed better grip. So, a series of jimping or gripper grooves were added. To go with that, a thumb ramp was added. The lack of thumb ramp was the biggest complaint I had for the knife. To improve the flow of the knife I gave the blade shape more of a bowie style clip. The false edge is easily sharpened. The false edge can be done as a swedge or left off for a single edge knife. Customer's choice.

Battery died on the camera. Pictures of grippers coming.

Gorgeous blade there. Definitely like that profile.

I notice you seem to go for pretty simple handle designs too.

I adore the grind on that blade. Any ideas on pricing? I've been looking for a small fixed.

Thank you and thanks everyone for the kind words! I am liking how this turned out, more and more. Also, thank you for making the observations about my handle designs. I do tend to more straight forward, simple handles. They fit with my general approach to a knife. For the most part, knives can be adapted to multiple uses, various utility tasks or self defense. Firearms aren't quite as flexible. Of course when I open my bills with an S&W 29, I tend to miss that months payment. I just can't seem to read the amount due!??!? Anyway, to help fulfill the knife's ability at multi-tasking, I use a simple uncomplicated design. It permits multiple grips, easy grip adjustment and quick establishment of a solid grip in a hurry. I have made and will make more knives with more complicated handle designs. I have some designs that permit multiple grips. However, they aren't as forgiving. For a knife like the LMRK, it needs a very simple adaptable handle. The LMRK with the double edge is more self defense first, utility second. I have to say it feels really good in the hand and moves very well. The LMRK with a swedge or single edge is more utility first self defense second. As Hark said, I try not to have any fluff. While Darrel is the number 1 influence in my knife making, I also get a lot of inspiration from Bud Nealy and Al Polkowski.

Well, I like it. I appreciate the explanation as well. I tend to do more complicated handles myself, but there's an elegance in simplicity that, when done well, can really stand out. Your designs, this one especially, really accomplish that goal, in my eyes.

OK, so I am a bit tardy with the pics of the jimping. Sorry about that.

The jimping is on the ramp, toward the pommel on top and bottom.

Thanks for the good words. I completely missed your question. Sorry about that! It will be in the $250.00 range. That will depend on the steel I settle on. While I love 154cm and D2, great steels and a bit less cost, it will most likely be S30V or S35V. I have not used S35V as of yet but, the first batch will be in S35V.
