If you haven't seen it yet you need to! I came across it on Taylor's website and said "Mmmm". I bought a 340tb and 80tb and they are REAL nice:thumbup: The fit and finish is nearly perfect on these 2, they walk and talk just right and they are 440c or what ever the Chinese call it instead of 440a (I don't have a problem with 440a,i don't know why it gets a bad rap?) Y'all oughta check'em out, A Old Timer with bone scales hasn't been made since the 60's I guess. I'll be adding a few more to my knife box for sure.

I got the Stockman in bone a few days ago. Really nice! Taylor brands seems to be bringing back the classics. Now, if they would just do the OT barlow in bone it would be wonderful.

I had to look at the Taylor site just to see if the 50T was in bone, for sentimental reasons. I used to carry a Bruin in the early 90's. I had the green handled one. It was my EDC for a time until I broken the tip off doing something I shouldn't have. I bought it at Kmart, Wallmart, Big K ... one of those and paid 15-18 bucks for it. I kept telling myself I'd get another ... some day. If I'd known Shrade would pass in 2004, I'da headed to the big box right away for another one or three.

If you are just looking for a nice, inexpensive yet well made barlow, take a look at the Rough Rider Bark Bone Barlow. Have one and it is quite nice.

Schrade made bone-handled Old Timers several different times. There were the really old ones of course, then an anniversary smooth bone release in the 1980s, and the beautiful jigged bone Old Timer Classics just before going bankrupt.
I'm glad you're happy with the Taylor products; I don't have any of those.

So silly of me to forget these two things,
The Silver Anniversary Old Timers were also in bone.
And Welcome to Bladeforums. :D

if its allowed can someone post a pic or link to these bone old timers?...I also don't mind 440 for edc .....

Here is a picture from the Taylor Brands website (they own the Schrade name now)

If you want a 'real' Schrade, why don't you just get on the big auction site and buy one? On any given day there are hundreds for sale, mostly at reasonable prices, and made by American workers. Yes, there are 5OTs, and their analog in white 'scrimshaw' Delrin, and some other variants. Getting one is not a daunting problem.

Because he wants one in bone and in new condition. Those are not common and are pricey when you find one.

BF member "PLC" was similarly looking for a custom Schrade lockback in the General forum. I suggested that he buy an ordinary Delrin model and have it customized himself.
