The model 290 and 291 Rush series represents Buck's initial foray into the assisted opener genre. Utilizing Buck's exclusive ASAP system [Advanced Spring Assisted Performance] for quick and easy one handed blade deployment, the Rush also sports a rolling cam safety and a blade release ridge [flipper, basically] integrated on the blade to bring the ASAP technology into play.

Model 290 features a 420HC stainless blade
Model 291 has an ATS-34 blade

Both models have handles of anodized T6-6061 aluminum in either platinum or midnight blue colors for the 290 and gun metal gray for the 291.

Blade length is 2.5 inches and closed length is 3.75 inches.

SRP is $73.00 for the 290's and $90.00 for the 291

That is a sexy looking knife!

Thanks for the heads-up Dexter, keep 'em coming!

Any idea how thick the liners are on these? Looks like a nice knife, but the liners also look thin.

Picked up a 291 today at the local brick and morter... sweet! Buck is an immediate contender in the assisted opener arena. I am a long time fan of the Kershaw/Onions, but the 291 is no knock-off; distinctively Buck and extremely well done. The liner? I have no means of offering you an accurate measurement; however, it appears more than ample for a knife of this relatively diminutive size. Heck, my issue with the liner is it is stiff and not the easiest to disengage from the tang when closing the knife. This, I think, is good. Certainly, things will lighten up with use. By the way, the safety is very well done. Folks, you are going to like this one.

I absolutely love my new Buck Rush. I got the all steel model and has quickly become the favorite knife in my collection. I have over 100 knives with all sorts of different mechanism's but this one is highly addictive. I'm flicking it around while I write this.

I'm thinking of starting an all-assisted folder collection!

What fun...
