Saw this today a Lowes.

Then there's this, the Kershaw Starter.




Same knife. One branded by Appalachain Trail, one by Kershaw...

Any ideas?

The price of the 2 pack is the same as the Starter...
 
Avoid them like Ebola...Heavy, garbage steel (13Cr13), private colabeling and distributor exclusives and so on.

Not even 13Cr :P 3Cr

I was surprised when I saw this. It looks like Kershaw is sourcing another manufacturer is China for knives.
 
Well once Kershaw's run of knives was up, the Chinese factory figured other companies may want some cheap knives too, and why bother changing the pattern when the machinery is all set up already? The victim of Chinese backdoor manufacturing.


Although the Kershaw does have added value in that it has the warranty from a reputable company.
 
I just thought I remember reading that KAI has it's own factory in China. I could be wrong.
